It can’t be…but it is. October!

The weeks are flying by as fast as the leaves are falling. What is up with that? I suspect October will be gone before I get to writing another blog post. LOL! We have been and will be busy through to December. Here’s a little of what has gone on since our last post. (photos below)

  • We got the new tires on the Jeep, as well as a rear alignment. It’s now ready to go for our road trip.
  • My shoulder is still a bit sore, depending on how I sleep/move/lift. But it’s more of an annoyance than a PAIN.
  • Stu has an appointment with a surgeon on Tuesday to discuss his hernia repair surgery. He hopes to get it done ASAP, even if that means coming back from Maryland early. Keeping our fingers crossed it won’t impact our cruising although it may impact his diving.
  • We had two sets of visitors in recent weeks. The first was my baby brother who stayed over a couple of nights. Good times! He and Stu went for a nice motorcycle ride since the weather was nice. The other was a former coworker of Stu’s and her boyfriend, who stopped in for an afternoon while in the area.
  • I noticed the falls colors in our flowering trees first. Soon, they will all turn and fall.
  • We had another tornado warning, lasted less than 20 minutes for us and we spent it the utility room with the pups. We got the alarms on our weather radio, both iPhones, and both Apple watches. No damage close to us but some in neighboring Crossville.
  • Stu managed to put the zero-turn into the lake. Not completely, thank goodness, and our neighboring teen helped him get it out with his ATV.
  • We upgraded our phones, moving from iPhone 8s to iPhone 13s. A bit bigger but the camera is awesome and we got fantastic trade-ins on our old phones. We traded in Stu’s 8 and his old (very old) 6 but kept my 8. We keep it in the kitchen for bird feeder photos.
  • Last, but not least, the fourth (and final) electrician came out and got the install done on the pole barn! Now we wait for the power company to find time to connect it – they are backlogged with pole work due to upgrades and repairs. But it will happen!

Here’s all the photos from above….

We leave on Wednesday for Maryland, the #2doods will be at their favorite doggy camp until we return. Current plans, as of this writing, is to head home on the 24th or 25th. That could change if Stu can get an appointment for his surgery sooner than later.

Ciao for now!

LOL at Stu putting the zero-turn into the lake! My son has ordered a John Deere zero-turn for the “lawn” part of the new farm, but I can totally see him getting it or the tractor into one of the ponds before he really gets the hang of driving them. Or his father-in-law who can’t seem to keep himself from being there more often than my son & his wife are! They are still rehabbing the house so haven’t actually moved in yet.

I’ve had to pull the lawn equipment out of swampy areas using our Jeep with 4WD, but this was a first. LOL!
