Almost gone – busy, busy!

Seems like yesterday that October rolled in, now it’s almost gone! It’s been a busy month for us, have to say I’m hoping November will be a bit quieter. Here’s a synopsis and some photos to update you.

  • Stu had his appointment with the surgeon and is scheduled for an inguinal hernia repair TODAY (10/25). This meant our trip to Maryland was shortened quite a bit.
  • Before we left, we needed to repair/replace one of our front porch lights. Replace is what it was (see photo).
  • Stu took a new photo of our Leyland Cypress trees we planted along our fence line 19 months ago. Check out the comparison photo below.
  • I made an appointment for this coming Thursday to see an orthopedist about my shoulder. While better, it still bothers me and limits my activities somewhat.
  • On our drive to MD, I checked into our power companies app and discovered our pole barn meter install was no longer listed as “pending connection”. We contacted our neighbor teen that helps us and he took a photo of the meter. {see pole barn blog}
  • We had an easy drive both to MD and back home. Both nights we stayed at a Best Western in Wytheville. Imagine our surprise when we found a HUGE pumpkin farm right behind the hotel!
  • We stopped at Five Guys for dinner when we arrived in MD, then our youngest granddaughter stopped in with her dad. We were all surprised!
  • Friday was “help decorate the reception hall” day and rehearsal dinner night.
  • Saturday was the big day – it was fantastic, both the wedding and the reception. You can see all the photos (including the fun photo booth shots) in our SmugMug album.
  • Monday we visited Stu’s brother who has been diagnosed with Pulmonary Fibrosis. It was good to see him. Since then he visited the hospital for a couple of days for new treatment. Take time to visit your loved ones – you never know.
  • Then we got hit with some major news – Stu’s youngest daughter is expecting! Waverly is in second grade and we thought she’d be our last. Nope – and it’s a boy! Stu’s first grandson.
  • When we got home, we both had COVID tests and we were both negative!

Now for some photos from the above news…

New porch lights, installed and working! Ta-da!

Even the pup is tired!

Lunch on the way home…couldn’t resist!

The pups are still being boarded, we had so much to do when we got home, capped off with being gone all day Monday for Stu’s surgery. We’ll pick them up on Wednesday. But we still have a couple of photos we haven’t shared…LOL!

And one big news is our “due-in-April” baby grandson. They did a news/gender reveal at their Halloween party (which we got to watch via Facetime).

Ciao for now!
