We made it!

Our drive to Florida was pretty uneventful with great weather. A little wind but no rain, sunny and comfortable temps. We saw a lot of vehicles obviously headed to Florida – linemen trucks, semis with ATMs and huge generators, and a large group of Tennessee National Guard vehicles. I took photos but the WiFi on the ship is terrible so won’t be able to share until we get home.

I do have give a shout out to these guys we met at a rest stop. We chatted about motorcycles for almost an hour. Forgot to ask their names!! Sorry, guys…

There were seven ships in Port Canaveral, normally five is the most we have seen. That meant the shuttles were way overworked. We had booked a stay & cruise package at the Radisson. We’d definitely do that again. A little more expensive but we got to sit inside (in the air conditioning) while we waited for our shuttle. We got right through all the lines at the terminal and were eating lunch by 1pm.

We have enjoyed some great dinners and met some interesting folks already. The band in the atrium is super, the lead singer (and band manager) is a gal from Glasgow, Scotland. The lead guitarist is from Argentina so had to ask him if he knew our friend Federico Gironelli. He did! In fact, Federico was the person that helped Jeremias get the contract with Carnival. Small world…

Due to the uber-slow WiFi, I probably won’t blog again until we get home. But hey, I am writing!!!

Ciao for now!
