Dash Cam installed!

Donna       Comments Off on Dash Cam installed!

I bought this Aukey dash cam two months ago but Stu finally had time to get it installed in the car today. I am VERY happy with it. I researched prices and reviews before choosing this one. I liked that it took a large SD card, had impact detection, and automatically starts/stops when the car is on.

After evaluating multiple locations – dashboard front, dashboard back, hanging under the rearview the mirror, behind mirror, on both sides of the windshield, we opted for the passenger side up high. It gives a great view and isn’t a distraction to the driver.

Here is the product info from Amazon:

Full HD Video

Emergency Recording
The G-sensor detects sharp turns and sudden stops to automatically lock videos if there’s an accident or other sudden event on the road. Defend yourself against dangerous drivers and insurance fraudsters.

Easy Installation
Use the 3M adhesive pad or suction mount to securely fasten the dash camera to your car windshield in seconds. Plug in the included car charger and connect the dash camera via the mini-B cable to power on and instantly start recording.

Set and Forget
Conveniently records whenever you use the car. Alternative motion detection recording method monitors even when you’ve locked up and left (requires a continuous power supply).

There are too many distracted drivers out there, too many “poor” drivers as well. This was an inexpensive under $40 solution. Oh, we did have to use a USB extension cord and we increase the capacity of our lighter adapter USB plug from 2-way to 3-way.

Cheap insurance….now Stu is off to install one in the Freightliner, albeit a twice as expensive one we bought two years ago. LOL!
