How’re you doing in your neck of the woods? Can you believe it’s August already? We’ve spent five months in semi-isolation and it looks like that isn’t going to end any time soon. We’re fortunate we’re in a rural location and don’t feel penned in. Stu does try to take a motorcycle ride now and then, I’m still not cleared for riding (even as a passenger on the trike).
Our weather has been decent, even when hot. We rarely go into the 90s and the humidity isn’t bad. The #2doods aren’t big fans of the heat but that doesn’t stop them from racing around like idiots when they are outside. The rain on Friday and Saturday brought in some cooler temps as well as helped refill our pond.
Stu had his tests on Friday and slept for several more hours when we got home. So far the only news is a small hiatal hernia. He’ll find out more after our primary physician gets the results to discuss with him. Time will tell but the good news is they found nothing serious.
I’ve been busy working on books and book covers. Yeah, that’s a rabbit hole I’ve been in lately. I had fun redesigning the covers for my 2012 short story, Lost and Found, and the follow-on book, Home Again.
The covers are much more genre-driven than the original, mainly due to the growth of the market since 2012. They do well in the Chick-Lit and Young Adult romance categories and I think the new covers are better suited to the audience.
We’d love to hear how you and yours are doing…drop us a comment below and let us know!
Well it certainly is an odd year indeed. My wife and I are keeping our heads down as best we can, but it is very hard to remain totally isolated long term because we all have things we need to do or get. We just make sure we wear masks and wash our hands when we get back home. I hope Stu is OK and you can both keep away from the Covid-19 virus. It seems a lot worse in the USA than here although we are just seeing a possible risk in the numbers rising again. But it’s early so we will see.
Take Care Both.
Thanks Rob, it’s a crazy year for sure. We’ve managed to stay clear but the next month will tell. We have our local annual “The World’s Longest Yard Sale” going on here [127yardsale.com/] and it’s 2 miles from our house. We’re avoiding it. Plus school has started locally. The county we are in hasn’t had many cases until recently and now they are growing daily. The two neighboring counties have been higher and those are where we normally shop. Hoping you aren’t getting a second wave!
