After all the heavy blogging, I thought I’d share a few of my favorite photos taken on our B2B Mardi Gras cruise. I hope you enjoy!
On week two, we re-enacted the welcome cheer so we could record it. What a wonderful welcome for all the passengers. Stu did the recording, unbeknownst to me. I had just taken a still photo. LOL!
We have visited Mahogany Bay in Roatan, Honduras a lot over the years. I always take photos of the old wreck. I decided to compare them and notice the difference wasn’t in the wreck’s appearance but of the “progress” on the land behind it.
This was pure chance…one of the best sunset photos I’ve taken over the years. And this was on my iPhone 13.
You may remember the Mardi Gras has a rollercoaster – something Stu loves. We bought one of the official photos as a memory.
This picture was snapped during a rehearsal. On the left is Chris Williams, our CD for the cruise. On the right is Lee Mason, the replacement cruise director when Chris leaves on break. We’ve had Lee before and absolutely love his energy, friendliness, and enthusiasm. We were lucky to have a chat with them both before the cruise was over.
My little Mardi Gras duck started many a conversation while I sitting on the Lido deck, writing. We met several great couples and made some Facebook friends thanks to his presence.
And one more memory was brought to mind – what a small world it is. One of the couples we met was really interesting in that the husband grew up in Bowie, MD (the same as Stu), worked for the county (the same as Stu) and graduated from the same high school just a year after Stu.
In another instance, I interacted with a woman who had posted a photo of our cabin door and how much she liked it. We got to chatting and discovered we had one mutual acquaintance. The acquaintance was the wife of a couple we met while we were living in Ecuador. When we met in person on the ship, I asked her how she knew this person. They were connected via the ice skating world! Yup, small world indeed.
No favorite photos would be complete without this one though, comparing the original and the current day ships.
And this collage of my late husband and I in October 1989, taking our belated honeymoon on a three day cruise on the original Mardi Gras.
