It’s June, baby!

April saw us welcoming a new grandson to the family. May was not so happy when that new grandson lost his grandmother only days after he was born. Pam McNicol was Stu’s first wife and mother of his two daughters, Heather and Melissa. She lost her battle to recently diagnosed cancer on Melissa’s birthday. Not a happy day to say the least.  Stu will be traveling to Maryland end of this week for Pam’s memorial service. He recently fixed the issue with his motorcycle (and saved us hundreds and hundreds of dollars) and weather permitting will be riding once again. He’s been busy with that repair and getting the yard work done before leaving.

Me? I’m still in surgery prep mode. I have written and scheduled all my newsletters through till the end of July and I also managed to schedule two months worth of posts to my author Instagram and Twitter accounts, as well as my Facebook author page and Facebook author group. My TikTok account won’t fare quite so well. But that’s okay, it’s new and while I do post authorly stuff, it been more about personal things. Just for fun. Same thing for my new photo website, AuthorShutterbug.com – photos are scheduled through till August. Phew! That lightens my load tremendously.

As I go through my daily chores and routines, I am still trying to imagine doing it with one had. Most will be frustrating if not impossible. Opening a Mini-Moo creamer or a packet of sugar for my coffee. Yeah, not going to happen. Putting toothpaste on my toothbrush – that’s a maybe, we’ll see how restricted my left hand will be. Getting dressed – nope, gonna need help. Taking daily pills, only if Stu opens the snap lid for me, at least for the first week. Eating in my late, plate in left hand, fork in right. Absolute no – will be using the tray table for the whole time I’m in a sling. I’m wearing my Apple watch on my right wrist but may need help getting it off and putting it back on. So many little things we take for granted.

But with the pain in my shoulder increasing, even though my movement isn’t restricted, I will be glad to get this over with and look forward to sleeping back in our bed by sometime August. I’ve been sleeping in the recliner since March.

July will be a recovery month for me along with the birth of a new great-grandson. Yup, another run up to Maryland for Stu, but not until I’m well enough to be left alone for a week or so. I know we’re all excited!

That about wraps it up….here’s an old video of Cooper and Murphy on their first night together (Stu was in Maryland and I sent him this….LOL).

They were so small –

Just look at the now –

Ciao for now!
