Planning for Europe – Electronics Take 2

As I reviewed our orders at Amazon, I realized there were more electronic related items that needed to be added. Let’s hope no one ever takes out all the power grids! We’d be lost.

First up are something that could have gone in several other posts: Comfort & Safety or Electronics. But I forgot to mention them. Apple Air Tags. We are an all Apple family with watches, tablets, phones, ear buds, laptops, and desktops – all from Apple. So their Air Tags made sense for us.

We bought ours in a 4-pack (and have bought twice more when on sale). They are currently $10 off at Amazon for the 4-pack but I have no idea how long the sale will last. They are normally $100 for four or a single for $30.

Then we needed holders and have ended up with three different styles. The flat wallet one are slipped into the inside zip pocket in our suitcases. The round ones (which I love because they can’t fall out) are used inside backpacks, purses, on key rings, and other important portable places. The final are the ones we got for the dog collars.

These chargers are awesome and we frequently use them for normal travel. This works since, again, we are all Apple. Using it means fewer cables have to be packed. But not sure if they will go to Europe, they are a bit heavy and bulky since they do require their own plug. We will decide when we do some practice packing this August.

Anyone who uses an Apple watch, knows how quickly the battery can be at times. I found these little key-chain charger/batter banks that are perfect. Toss in a pocket, purse, or suitcase for a quick charge anytime, anywhere. I love them.

In the first electronics post, I mentioned taking my older 2015 MacBook Air with the older Mag 2 T-type cable charger. The OEM adapter is bulky and I searched high and low for a smaller one with the correct end. When I found it, I was thrilled and ordered it (might order a backup, just in case). I love it!

The final item is a tiny thumb drive so I can easily backup my photos while traveling. If I take my Panasonic Lumix, I will take several SD cards and a reader for my laptop. That way I can copy them to the laptop and save them to the thumb drive as a backup. I love this SanDisk thumb drive that I can use with my laptop or iPad. It flips from USB A to USB C.

But wanting to be safe, I also have a rugged portable 2TB SanDisk external drive, just in case. It will not only backup photos, but any work I do on the laptop.

The final item is a small flexible tripod for my phone. I may or may not take the tripod, but I will definitely take the remote switch so I can just CLICK to take a photo. You know, those long arm selfies where you just can’t get it to click when you want and the photo is terrible. the switch connects via BlueTooth and works with both iOS and Android.

Laundry is next – keep watching!
