Time is flying and we have been really busy, even though we are on our final cruise. We’ve ticked off some new ports, even though we lost several due to the current weather conditions over here in Europe. We lost two ports in Spain (Cartegena & Seville), as well as two ports in Portugal (Funchal & Lisbon). We then added two ports in the Canary Islands – Las Palmas & Tenerife. Having lost two excursions, we rebooked one in Las Palmas on Gran Canaria. More info in a future blog…
›We are now at over 3700 photos taken (camera, iPad Mini, & 2 iPhones – all hard at work).
Scotland was AMAZING and we really hope to get back as well as visit Ireland.
›We missed seeing the Rock of Gibraltar again since our route had to change and we passed it at night – again.
›We aren’t sure about how much we will cruise Holland America in the future. Thinking maybe we need something in the middle between Carnival and HAL. Possibly Princess again…
›But we did book a 14 day Canada & Greenland cruise with Carnival for May 2025.
›Tomorrow we start on eight sea days back to Florida. Good thing the ship isn’t fully booked!
Sorry you’ve had so many weather reroutes! Is that why you’re not keen on Holland America, or is it the cost? We used them for our 24-day Meditteranean/Adriatic cruise in 2018. It was grand but the cost was mind-boggling! And, we were rerouted from Mykonos to Catania, thanks to a Medicane. Still worth it, regardless. Life is short and we need to make those memories, yes? Sounds like you’re excelling in that department. 😀 Happy trails!
We are used to dealing with hurricanes, but this weather in Europe is new to us. But all is good. As to HAL, it’s more of a “feeling”, just not my vibe. I feel out of place but I’m dealing with it. LOL
We cruised with Princess for over 20 years and felt that the quality of the cruise had gone downhill.
Have you considered NCL? They seem to be more of a happy medium.
Our first two cruises (Panama Canal & Alaska) were with Princess but back in 2009-2010. I’ve heard some bad things but might try one. Won’t be for a while, we have 3 back-2-back cruises in Jan 2024 and a 14 day to Canada & Greenland in May 2025. Both on Carnival.
