I’ve spent a significant amount of time over the last couple of weeks getting ready for a local bike show event. We signed up for a vendor spot and hoped to sell some of our motorcycle gear. Well, it was a great sale. No, we didn’t sell out, but we sold over $900 worth of stuff and came home with significantly less stuff. That’s now in the bank along with the money from selling Scooby (Ford F-250) as we work towards another new vehicle next spring as we trade in the 2011 Jeep on a (probably) 2025 Subaru Forester.
Stu took a little video of Scooby leaving…sniff. We got about 50% of what we paid for him over twelve years ago and we’ve had to put little into him. He owed us nothing and has moved on to Knoxville and work in a landscaping business.
The Honda Ridgeline is working out great and Stu is having a blast buying accessories for it. Because I’m short, getting in and out for me was a bit of a struggle so we knew running boards were a must. I loved the ones we got and Stu easily mounted. He calls them nerf bars. If you look close, you can see the one on the passenger side. They work great!
The last biggie will be a tonneau cover, added before we drive to Maryland in October.
And here are some photos of the bike show and our set up… Oh, and there were over 250 bikes in attendance. Great day and we enjoyed meeting and chatting with so many folks!
Today, the canopy is being put to use while Stu works on the deck. We have no real rain in the forecast for the next week+, so he hopes to get a lot done. The shade over where he is working is a huge help!
I hope to get back to writing Caroling Chaos. My original plans to were to finish writing in July and edit in August. Now hope to finish in August and edit in September. Phew!
One final photo – the crepe myrtle in our front yard just blossomed out and it’s gorgeous!
Looks like you had an amazing week along with all the work you did for the sale = good job!
It has been a good week! So glad we sold as much as we did. Now will sort what goes to the donation bin and what we try to sell on FB Marketplace.
Dang, you guys had a lot of “stuff”! Most of ours went to the daughter & son-in-law when they got the Harley. Neither of them fit into our leather jackets, so they’re still in the closet. I’ll know when it’s time to sell them…just not quite yet. I’m shocked at the number of helmets you had! Good job on whittling down your collection so much!

One shorty and one 3/4 were mine, the rest were Stu’s. He had a hard time fitting his head. The 3/4 like mine was the one he wore the most until recently. Then he got the modular. We’re happy my shorty, his 3/4, and his modular all sold!
