Just when you thought the deck was done (except for two small side sections), you find out hubby plans to completely replace the wire because it’s too thin and could easily be kicked/knocked out. Yikes! This photo shows the new on the left and the old on the right.
But it took a bit. The old wire came in black. The new wire was galvanized and had to be spray painted. AND, it came in huge sheets. Here’s a couple of pics of it before cutting to size.
Then he pulled a section out over the saw horses to cut and spray paint.
It really looks great now that it’s done and he added the two missing sections, one behind my chair and one at the top of the stairs. He’s trying to decide if he wants to do this down the length of the steps.
Didn’t he do a great job? We’re both looking forward to spring when we unbox our Blackstone grill and patio set. We may replace the Adirondack chairs, too, time will tell (looking at sales for a specific style).
Looks fabulous! I really wish I had considered something like this for our deck. Great Job
Hubby did it all from concept to design to construction. He did an amazing job! When he first mentioned using wire for the railing, I turned up my nose. But I love it!
You might consider rocking chairs for the new deck???
We do have rockers on our front porch. The back is where I like to sit with feet up, so we are looking for something like we had on our RV lot in Florida.
