Almost floored and getting treed!

Stu has been able to work on the ceiling of the office in the pole barn the last two days. He says the joists are done and today he will lay the final flooring – or roofing – or ceiling. Not sure what to call it since it will be the ceiling of the office but the floor of the storage area. Here are a few pics of him at work putting up the joists.

Treed? Our Emerald Green Arborvitae trees from Fast-Growing-Trees.com arrived via Fedex the other day. Well packaged, we brought them inside, unboxed them, and put them in our guest bathroom tub. As soon as the weather gets warmer, we’ll move them outside (not in direct sun the first couple of days) for some sunlight. Hopefully they will get planted in the next couple of weeks. Not sure where these will go, we’re still planning since I (me, Donna) ordered the wrong ones. These are slow growing and not as tall or wide as the ones I was supposed to be ordering.

I have now ordered the Thuja Green Giant Arborvitae from the same company that was supposed to be the first order and asked for delayed shipment so Stu has time to prep the ground. They are fast growing (5-6″ a year), will spread up to 12-15′ wide and grow to 30-50′ tall. They will go along our north side fence line to give some privacy. A few years back we planted Leyland Cypress trees along the southern fence line and they have worked out well.

Car parts are coming in fast and furious – Stu hopes to be able to drive it to a local car show next weekend. Time will tell!

Ciao for now!
