While he’s waiting for parts for the Falcon, Stu has been attacking all the projects around the house. First was the trees. Then the furniture renovations. Today it was removing the toilet in the guest room and installing the new one. The old one will get moved into the future bathroom in his hobby barn, the Backend of Nowhere Garage.
The guest toilet was a poor flushing one and a continual irritation. Stu thought something might be caught in the trap. I figured it was just a cheap toilet that really took minimal water usage too far. I did a ton of research and discovered the TOTO Drake Two-Piece Elongated 1.6 GPF TORNADO FLUSH Toilet with CEFIONTECT and SoftClose Seat was the top recommended for good flushing. Amazon had a good price so I dropped into my “save for later” to price-watch it. Both Home Depot and Lowe’s were higher priced. As it always happens, the price went up about $50 so I kept watching. The next time it dropped, we got the best price at Lowe’s with free delivery.
Today was the day – Stu wheeled the boxes into our guest room and tackled the removal. That went without issue, other than a lot of clean-up needed, and it was time for the install. Wow! I think it took hiim longer to unbox than it did to install.
We are impressed with the tornado-style flushing and a bit surprised at the “sloth-close” lid. LOL! But happy happy that this is done. On to the next project – no, wait. Time to mow the lawn while I move all the boxes out of the guest room so I can get to my wool laundry drying on the garment rack. LOL!
