Summertime is full of car shows, motorcycle shows, cruise-ins, and swap meets. This past Saturday we had our pick of at least five to choose from, all within a 30 minute drive. We chose to go to the closest one and enjoy lunch while there. Our first show was in late June at the Cumberland Mountain General Store – we blogged it HERE. It’s maybe ten minutes from the house and we loved the burgers we had there last time.
Being a swap meet, this one started early – 8 am. We made it by 8:30 and there was still plenty of room to park. Only a few people had swap items, nothing Stu needed, but he enjoyed taking pics of the cars and chatting with the owners. He made a connection with a member of the local car group and plans to join them. They have a big cruise-in next weekend in downtown Crossville and he will definitely attend (weather permitting). I may or may not go – time will tell.
Here are some of the vehicles we saw… Music by Tom McElman Band: Thorntons Boogie
I dressed in all wool – yup! I wore my wool& Audrey sleeve-less maxi-dress (side slits) with the Woolx men’s Endi short-sleeve button-front shirt on top. Shoes were my Allbirds Wool Loungers and undies were from Branwyn. Oh, and my wool blend ball cap from Woolx.
I stayed quite comfy all day. Well, except for the hover flies. We have always called these sweat bees, but after researching, there is a difference and these were definitely hover flies. Just a bothersome issue as I swatted them away from time to time.
Just a quick catch up on the restoration of Blaze and Rusty, the donor car. Stu hopes to use the engine in Rusty which will move Blaze from a 6 cylinder to an 8. But first, he needs to ensure the engine in Rusty is usable. He did get it running for a very short period to be sure it was worth continuing. He bought a new radiator and now is checking to be sure the hoses he bought fit it. It’s been sort of trial and error in the radiator/hose category. More later!!
