Hard to believe we’ve been home almost two weeks. Fall has arrived and over the last week we had several nights of temps in the 20s. We’re back into the mid 60s to low 70s this week but the leaves are disappearing quickly.
I’ve been busy finishing up the edits on SLAY RIDE (now available for pre-order along with the first two books in the series). I’m back to working on Ventis & Victims – well, after dealing with a deluge of emails and other online stuff (how does that happen anyway?) plus selling some things on Facebook Marketplace. (ignore the cat, substitute #2doods)
We’ve also been working on the things we know (or think) we will need for our two month Europe trip next fall. We ordered two new 19″ suitcases that should fit 95% of the restrictions on flights while there (using the budget airlines). Merino wool items have been ordered and backpacks adjusted. We will continue downsizing our packing on our next 2 cruise outings (2 weeks each) and next summer will start some dummy packing. Such fun, and OH, the anticipation!
Stu has stayed busy in The Backend of Nowhere Garage (aka the pole barn). First he had to install a freeze-proof hydrant to prevent the water in the pole barn from freezing. He is still organizing and recently added a retractable overhead air hose reel. Needless to say, you may feel as nervous as I did when you look at these photos! But at least it’s done. Phew!
Other than that, we’re just getting ready for winter. Stu still has to winterize all the lawn equipment, but that’s easy. Me? Oh, I cleaned out two large bags of clothes for donation and reorganized my closet for winter.
In closing – Murphy loves the warm sun coming in the front door during these 60-70 temp days. The boys spend a lot of time outside and I can leave the back door open. Makes me happy, too!
