The best laid plans…we were supposed to be driving to FL right now but won’t get on the road until tomorrow. Murphy had a cornifying epithelioma (a benign growth that sticks up from the skin surface and look like a horn) on the back of one of his hind legs. The vet said to leave it alone, surgery would be harder to heal and more painful than the growth.
Murphy disagreed and chewed it off. We’ve kept it bandaged all weekend and he’ll see the vet this afternoon for antibiotics and dressing instructions for the boarding kennel.
Tomorrow the doods will be dropped off for their boarding and we will head south, arriving at my brother’s in Florida late on Thursday. Saturday we leave for three weeks of cruising. We are both SOOO ready!
Ciao for now!
Aw, poor Murphy! So glad it didn’t happen after you had already left, though. Happy sailing!!

They ended up keeping him overnight and he’ll have surgery to stitch up the wound today. Looks like tomorrow is our leave date (and the last we could leave without killing us with driving). We’re lucky the gals who run the boarding facility are both former vet techs and will take good care of him.
