The daffodils are always the first flowers to pop, followed by the crocuses. I love the bright yellow as they pop, followed quickly by the bright yellow of the dandelions (great for the bees).
A spring warming trend always brings the threat of severe weather. A large portion of the southern US is expecting the next blast starting tonight on through Saturday night. We are fortunate to have multiple sources of weather warnings including a local weatherman who posts on his website as well as Facebook. We also signed up for Hyper-Reach Anywhere and get notifications of weather issues in our area. AND we have a battery backup weather radio so even if the power goes out, it still works.
But, we also have our generator which can run the majority of items in the house. It operates on both gas or propane and we have multiple large tanks of propane ready for use.
We had a little pop-up storm yesterday – came in fast and left just as fast. Here are little video from the back deck.
Speaking of getting ready for spring, it was time for a haircut and I went for the summer short. It’s fun to spike it a bit, something I would never had done in my younger years.
Stu has been hard at work, alternating between finishing out the office space in the barn and working on his project car (1965 Ford Falcon Convertible). We will be posting all the hobby barn updates, including both the office build and anything other construction items and his project car work, in his BackendofNowhereGarage.com blog. I hope you will pop over there and sign up for notifications via email using the subscription form in the left hand column. And if you haven’t already, sign up to get notified of new posts in this blog, too!
