Many of you remember Bill Murray and his battle with the gopher in the movie Caddyshack. Well, we seem to have several families that have taken up residence in our yard. Part of living in the country, we know, but they are destructive and they keep on breeding more.
Our young neighbor shoots them and takes them away when he sees them, but there are still more. Now they have gotten brazen enough to stroll down our driveway in broad daylight!
We decided to try to live trap and relocate as many as we can. Stu stopped at Rural King for the traps and we are trying to figure out what we can put out that they love to eat. First try is cantaloupe. We’ll see if they eat that. If they do, he’ll bait the traps. Once caught, they will be relocated at least 20 miles away to be sure they don’t return. Lots of wild acreage and woods that far out as we head towards the Kentucky border.
