At the last count, Stu had relocated two gophers (Gary & Geraldine) and one skunk (Pepé Le Pew) to new homes. That was several weeks ago and we thought we had seen the last of the gopher family.
One afternoon Cooper was looking intently out the deck door and when I got up to let him out, I saw a large gopher meandering across the back yard. Yup, one more to relocate. Stu set the trap with some banana (what we had on hand) but after two days nothing had happened. So he picked up some more cantalope and set the trap again. Bingo! Gregory was caught and relocated to the same area twenty+ miles away where he could join up with Gary & Geraldine. Once again, we hope that’s the last of them. Stu: 4 Gophers: 0 Skunk: 0
As the cooler weather has finally moved in, Stu has started using the new Blackstone grill and so far he really likes it. We added a couple more things from Amazon: small dome covers and a warming tray. He used and liked them both. We had some butter pats in the fridge so he used those and we decided to add a butter slicer so he can easily have butter pats on hand, plus a fun dish to store them in..
I can see clearly now – the new window in the kitchen has no panes (per our order) and the screen is pushed to the top. That lets me take photos out of it without any issue. The bird feeder is now in the yard and too far away for most pictures with my iPhone, I need to try my Panasonic camera, but the phone worked great for a pic out the window of a finch sitting on the deck railing. And yes, I take crooked photos way too often. LOL!
Stu finally put on the new magnetic screen door to the deck. The opening is offset, so that’s a bit different, but it’s really heavy duty and higher quality than our previous ones. An added bonus is when I’m sitting in the living room and look out, the screening seems to disappear.
In closing, here are some sky photos taken in the last couple of weeks…
