This week has flown, of course that might have something to do with our drive to deliver Little Miss Muffet (now named Diana) to her new home in Kentucky (where she is doing very well) on August first.
We spent the weekend at home, avoiding all the US127 Yard Sale traffic jams. Plus it rained…and we had a pretty sky out front and an amazing rainbow out back!
I’ve been busy working on marketing my books as well as prepping my newsletter (now out, be sure you subscribe so you don’t miss an issue). You can see the August issue HERE – links to a lot of fun books, both romance and mystery.
Stu has been busy keeping the yard done and working on an ongoing electrical issue in Scooby (our pickup). Still in progress…
Monday we took Cooper and Murphy in for their annuals shots. Cooper was actually due last month and Murphy next, but we wanted to get them on the same schedule. Both were healthy, no issues, and at a good weight. We met the newest vet in the office and liked him. The #2doods were well behaved, even with a 45 minute wait to be seen.
Tuesday they went to doggy daycare while we ran errands and went to the movies to see “Hobbs & Shaw“. (Loved it, some amazing CGI effects, lots of action, and two of my favorite actors dissing each other…) Stu also got his replacement hearing aid mated with his phone and the one for the other ear. He had tried to get it repaired while he was in Maryland but it had to go to the factory where they decided to replace it. It takes someone with specialized software to do this but fortunately there is a place in Cookeville that could do it, other wise he’d have to wait till October when we are back in Maryland.
The #2doods had baths after play time, and this is what greeted us as we walked in the door!
I thought I’d have a productive day today…that wasn’t to be. I woke 3:34am, soaking wet with sweat. The power was off (turns out it was a broken pole from auto accident). No big deal, toss off the covers, go to the bathroom, come back and leave the covers off. Used my phone to log in to our provider and report the outage – already showed over 1300 customers out. Estimated restoration time, 6am. Time to go back to sleep.
Nope! Neighbors across the street evidently have a whole house generator and after so many minutes, it kicks in automatically. Not a big deal, in fact we’ve talked about getting one. BUT, it was loud. I mean LOUD! I tried to sleep, wasn’t happening. Played games, checked Facebook, read blogs, played more games…checked and the next estimated restoration time was 8am. Sigh…
Around 6:30, the power came back on (yay)! Another 10 minutes or so the generator stopped. At 7am, I pulled up the covers, closed my eyes and went to sleep until noon. But did I get up then? Oh no…I stayed in bed playing games, reading Facebook, responding to email, playing more games…so yeah. NOT a productive day! Tomorrow WILL be better for sure…I hope.
