Whether…Weather

Last week was heavenly – wonderful fall temps with a few dips to the colder side. Sunny enough the #2doods wanted to be outdoors all day. That all changed today. The rain was forecast to move in tonight and a chance for a dusting of snow by morning. Yeah, right! It’s now mid-afternoon and it’s raining and the forecast for where we are is 1-2″. Sure glad we don’t have to go anywhere the next few days.

Stu is busy working on the car. While he was diagnosing the new growl that he thought might be bearings or CV joints, he found a leak in a rear end seal. He hasn’t ruled out the bearings as the cause even though they don’t seem to be bad. So, he has ordered the tools/parts needed to change the rear bearings while he replaces the seal. (Love you, sweetie!!)

In the meantime, we took advantage of the nice weather over the past few days to get the final items out of the RV, clean it, and move it into the Backend of Nowhere Garage for the winter. It took a little maneuvering since he was backing from his blind side. But it fits…check it out!

His final step was opening all the slides and putting out all the awnings to dry, as well as opening all the closets/drawers and refrigerator inside. We bought a dehumidifier and that is draining into the shower. Mouse poison and traps are arriving tomorrow. Hoping all goes well this winter!

Speaking of deliveries, we have several arriving in the next few days – sending out good wishes to the USPS drivers as well as UPS/Fedex drivers that have to drive in this nasty weather. (Better them than me…!)

Cold weather means SOUP! Stu has been saving/freezing all the bones/leftovers from the roasted chicken he’s been getting from Sam’s Club and Walmart. It was time to put them all in the crockpot for a day, making a perfect broth for chicken vegetable soup. This was the next day after straining the broth and adding veggies. Yummy!

And of course…we have to share some cuteness from the #2doods. They’re getting a little shaggy but with the cold, we don’t want to get them clipped too soon. We did do a bath in our walk-in shower. That was fun (snicker) and now Cooper won’t step foot into our bathroom. But they sure smelled better and their fur was so much softer.

Ciao for now!

Yay! You 2 have been so busy. I wish we were that close. All water and drain lines are frozen. What a PITA! Way to go for both of you!!
