Rolling towards December…

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Stu did a smashing job with our turkey breast, cooked in the convection over, combined with steam-in-bag red potatoes and steam-in-bag veggies, plus some Stove Top Stuffing and cranberry sauce. Pour a couple glasses of wine and we were good to go.

When we posted this on Facebook, most of the comments were about our divided plates. Since we have collected McNicol China dinnerware for several years now, when I saw these on ebay….well, I just had to get them. The Blue Willow pattern is what I grew up with and it kind of combined our two pasts.

Most McNicol China is more like stoneware, quite heavy, and was made for commercial use in restaurants and various institutions like the US military organizations.

We split a mini-apple pie for dessert. Not the best I’ve ever had but not the worst. Yes, we ignored our current WOE (way of eating) to splurge but we are back on it now.

The #2doods weren’t left out…they each got little taste of the turkey.

We haven’t done much Black Friday shopping but I did get a nice wreath for the front door from Kohl’s on sale. I really like the way it looks. Don’t you?

An update for those who have been following my medical saga – the testing that was to be done this week and on Dec 10th had to be rescheduled due to an equipment malfunction. The two tests will be done mid-January, just before our cruise. Right now surgery is scheduled for March 23rd.

Since we had already booked an overnight for the #2doods, we decided to keep that appointment and have a day and night to ourselves. They loved it and we got to go to a movie where we saw Ford v Ferrari. We both really enjoyed it. If you are considering seeing it, this is a great read for AFTERWARDS. Do NOT read it before the movie.

It was raining when we came out and I loved the colorful front of the theater reflecting in the rain. Our dash cam in the car does a good job at night…here is a pic I took of it before we left the theater.

Almost forgot…Stu finally tried on his kilt. The fit is 95% there, looks like we might need to get the waist taken in an inch or two! We have also ordered a new white shirt (in the correct size), white hose, a kilt pin, a tie tac, and a custom-fit Argyle Five-Button Vest. The vest in the photo was just so we could take the picture.

Pretty spiffy, isn’t he? He’s going to be the hottest guy on the cruise come formal night!

Our plans for this weekend are to put up our Christmas decorations. Have you put yours up yet? If not, when do you plan to? Are you a minimalist or do you go all out?

Ciao for now!

Hope you enjoy the cruise! Dinner looked good and the perfect portions. Meanwhile, some of us still don’t feel quite right from the overeating two days ago.:(
