Ahhh, welcome September!

We closed out the month of August with a tornado warning that sent us to our utility room for a short time. It passed quickly but not before touching down. Phew! Hoping the severe summer storms are over and done with!

I’m sure we still have a couple in our future. I mean, hurricane season doesn’t end until November?

Stu has been working hard in the yard, getting rid of weeds and putting down mulch in preparation for colder temps. We never did manage to get the dwarf bushes we want for the front of the house since we started looking too late. That will be a spring 2021 project.

And we have a new “creature” to add to our yard visit list. We believe it was a Mountain Midget Crayfish which is found primarily on the Cumberland Plateau in Tennessee (where we live). Here are a couple of references:

Cooper found him (or her) first and after catching it, Stu brought it up for me to see before releasing down by our pond. Maybe there will be crayfish babies next spring!

Other than that, not much is new. I have changed my schedule a bit (working in the office rather than on the sofa), rearranged the loveseat in the living room so I can fully recline (rather than stealing Stu’s recliner), reorganized my Rocketbooks (lots more detail and photos here), and am finally getting organized enough to get some writing done.

I still hope to have Always on Duty available by the end of this month (Klondike Mysteries novelette) with Paradise Dawn (C’Mon Inn Mysteries novella) by the end of November. Once those are done, I have some minor typo-type edits that need to be done in Not a Whisper and then it’s on to new series! I have enough to keep me writing through the end of 2022 and possibly into 2023. Eeep!

Here’s a sample of the series (top to bottom, left to right): Red Line Coffee Mysteries, Open House Mysteries, Sweet Fiasco Mysteries, Hunt & Tech Mysteries, Lia Rules Mysteries, Murder Beach Mysteries, and Callie’s Cafe on the Hill Mysteries.

The tentative writing order is (with projected number of books):

  1. Red Line Coffee Mysteries (3)
  2. Open House Mysteries (3)
  3. Murder Beach Mysteries (3)
  4. Hunt & Tech Mysteries (3+)
  5. Sweet Fiasco Mysteries (3)
  6. Cafe on the Hill (6)
  7.  Lia Rules (3+)

In closing, here’s a COVID haircut, new reading glasses pic of me…LOL!

And some fun from the #2doods!
