Quick & Short One

I’m participating in NaNoWriMo, National Novel Writing Month, so time for blog writing is short. Things should get back to “normal” (whatever that is) in December. So while I’m busily writing the start of my Red Line Coffee Mystery series, here’s what Stu and the #2doods have been doing.

With nice weather, no rain and cooler temps, Stu tackled the water line trench for the pole barn. There is some he has to do by hand before he rents a trencher to finish.

If you look close (Murphy is laying down), you can see the #2doods helping…this has become a favored resting area for them, we’re not sure why. Maybe because of the view? LOL!

He also set up the ALFA WiFi Camp-Pro Universal WiFi Range Extender on the pole barn. We initially bought it to use on the RV when we were in Folkston GA the winter of 2019. When we got back home, he installed it on the shed so he could have WiFi access there. Now that most of his time is in the pole barn, he decided to try it over there. It worked perfectly! He set up his Wyze Cams and Amazon Echo Dot. He also added an outdoor motion sensor solar light, since there is no real power yet, just an extension cord to run a few things) over the side door. He got to test it this week and said it works great.

With Black Friday sales running all month long, new items are showing up here and there. He has two large stacked Craftsman toolboxes we got for a steal price from Woot when we were living in Ecuador. We had friends store them for us until we got back. Lowe’s now carries all the Craftsman products and he saw a deal on a middle piece he could add, only $79 each, so he headed off to grab two of them.

Saturday he started setting them up. Oops! Two things, the color red has changed (needless to say, this wasn’t a biggie for him) and the depth was less than what would be the top one. But he decided to try it anyway and putting the three pieces together. So now he plans to stack the two new pieces on top of the older bottom, leave one older set as is, and use the other top piece on a table top in the pole barn (when it’s ready to fully set up). Yeah, he’s having fun.

Me? I spent a couple of hours going through all our Christmas stuff. I will be sending a lot of things we don’t use (no room) to my daughter. I managed to downsize one big tote. yay! Then I tackled another tote of wall hanging stuff that has sat in the guest room since we bought it. Some things are also going to my daughter, some will get eBay-ed, and some might (maybe) get hung.

I saw a great pillow sale at Kohl’s and another at JC Penney’s. Finding the replacements I wanted for both of us (king pillows – Stu has extra firm and I have gushy-cushy), I ordered them. The old ones ended up as a trial in the dog beds with pillow covers on them. I’d say they were a hit, wouldn’t you?

Cooper rests against the pillow, often just curled up with his back against it. Here he’s in his traditional pose.

Murphy loves the pillows, always sleeps with his head on it now.

Ciao for now!
