I know, I’m bad…

This is going to be short and sweet (heck, not many people read this anymore…LOL). We got back from our cruise a week ago and it’s been chaos ever since. Stu is now off to Florida for his retired firefighter reunion and will visit some friends and family while there. I’m holding down the fort at home, still organizing the “stuff” I unpacked, cleaning out/purging more “stuff”, prepping for our big Europe trip, and getting things together for our accountant (tax time).

Here are the highlights:

  • We left home a day early due to bad weather moving in. We spent two nights in Tuscaloosa, AL and went to the movies on the extra day. We saw…um…darn…oh, yeah… “A Man Named Otto” with Tom Hanks. We both liked it, I teared up too much.
  • We got to Slidell for the last night before the cruise and on boarding day, it was a quick drive to the port of New Orleans.
  • Stu dropped me and the luggage off at the terminal and went to park the car. Long story short, I was hassled about standing around waiting for him until a supervisor ordered the two ladies hassling me to let me sit on a bench and wait. Poor Stu drove around for over 30 minutes before getting parked, then had to walk another 15 minutes back to me. NOTE: We plan to never cruise out of NOLA again.
  • The cruise was great! Stu got in two dives and I got ten chapters written in Mochas & Melodies, a companion novella to the Red Line Coffee Shop Mysteries. We made friends with the band members (big surprise) and the wait staff in the main dining room.
  • The drive home was uneventful. The #2doods were happy to see us!

In other news, I deleted my TikTok account and will try to be more active in my author Instagram account. Tomorrow I plan to get back to writing and would love to get the first draft of Mochas & Melodies done this month.

Ciao for now!

Parking at various cruise cities terminals can be a hassle. Something we have done on occasion is book a night at a hotel close to terminal that provides long term parking free or small fee, AND they have shuttle to the cruise terminal and pickup upon return. This has worked for us several times.

We did that once in Port Canaveral. It’s always complicated because we tend to do back-2-backs and the hotels don’t want to extend the offer to 14 days (even when we’ve offered to stay one night at the end of the cruise). Thanks for the reminder thought…part of the issue this time was the outright rudeness of some of the port staff.

I always read your blog! I’m not spending as much time on FB, & am sometimes just not “up to” commenting, but I definitely love reading every time you post a blog entry…even though you guys wear me out.

Hey sweetie, you do what you need to do for you! Blogging will probably be reduced for a bit while I try to get some writing done. I’ve had great intentions this week and haven’t been able to write a word. Exhausted by the time I get done with other stuff. Tomorrow!
