We’ve stayed busy since our last blog post, Stu doing chores & making repairs. Me? Well, I’m not sure where the time went. LOL! I did make it to my doctor appointment in Knoxville. I have two more appointments, one this week and one in another two weeks for further testing to determine what the extent will be of the repairs needed. My surgery is currently scheduled for March 23rd.
Stu finished the repairs on the Jeep after several online orders and a couple of trips to local parts stores. The growl is gone and we’re both happy! On our last trip into Crossville for parts, I snapped a photo of the pretty arrangements in our local McD’s and the setting sun.
We normally don’t do Christmas gifts for each other but this year is an exception (and since it’s an exception, we got them early). Ever since we attended the NEFL Highland Games, Stu has wanted to get a kilt in his clan’s tartan. I put the money aside and started researching the parts and pieces needed. We got a great deal on a used sporran on ebay. It’s leather and was made in Scotland.
The next step was to order the kilt as well as some other accessories like stockings, flashes, belt and buckle. I placed the order in September and it arrived last week. Sorry, no pics of Stu wearing it….YET! Plans are to wear it on formal nights during our cruise as well as to future Scottish Highland Games (we have one booked over Memorial weekend in Kentucky).
I ordered a MacQuarrie tartan sash and brooch which I will wear over a white blouse and black skirt or pants. I’m still trying to find what will look best and will also don this for formal nights on our cruises.
Our good friends Pauline and Earl came to town to visit and catch up on all the “gossip” last week. We went to Abuela’s Cafe in downtown Crossville. We all were very pleased with the restaurant facilities, service, and food. I was the rebel, getting picadillo while everyone else got Cuban sandwiches. Stu had already taken a couple of bites before I snapped the pic.
November has been a good legging month….here are a few of the pairs I wore in the last couple of weeks.
As you know if you’ve followed this blog for very long, Cooper loves to lay on his back but for whatever reason, Murphy never followed suit. Until recently….
We have found a great groomer in Crossville and she did a great job on a mini-groom for the #2doods last week. So pretty!!
That about wraps things up. Oh, wait, my Christmas gift? Sorry, almost forgot. Stu got me a new Apple Watch Series 5 GPS/Cellular model. I am impressed and already love it. It was harder to put the bands on than it was to set it up. It linked right to my phone…bazinga! I now have a Dick Tracy two-way communication device (and so much more). I wanted it because of the fall detection as well as the EKG/heart tracking. I am amazed at all I can do with it including Facetime audio.
Love tartans! An impressionable 20-something avid researcher had about half a dozen scarves of different ones . . . wonder whatever happened to them over the ensuing fifty years! Always joyous to see the interaction of the colors and shapes.
Virtual hugs,
Judie
Hmmm…I wonder, too? LOL!
Have you considered getting help for that leggings addiction?! LMAO Unless I lose about 100 pounds, my thunder thighs will NOT be getting poured into any of them, in spite of loving some of the patterns.
Hoping all goes well with your medical situation!
The watch/computer-on-your-wrist is cool, my son has one too. I’m so tech challenged I’d never figure it out.
Looking forward to seeing you both in your Scottish outfits.
I’m lucky we moved to the low carb eating and lost 25#…otherwise, I wouldn’t be wearing the leggings either. LOL!
I was afraid I’d be lost with the watch but it’s been surprisingly easy. Of course I keep Googling how to do things. LOL!
